After looking through Women - Annie Leibovitz and Susan Sontag this book really inspired me to recreate this project using my own sources, images and ideas.
What is the project?
This project includes taking photographs of women who all have different jobs and lifestyles all of whom are all different social class rankings. These photographs typically will be photographed at the models places of employment or in their typical lifestyle comfort. For example if I were to photograph a doctor I would photograph them in the work uniform and the image I have in mind for this is to have them standing in an empty patients room. Some of my images may be harder for me to get access to because of privacy issues. However I am willing to adapt my images and locations due to issues revolving my ideas and any other issues that me be there.
Why did I choose this project?
I chose this project because I was very inspired by Annie Leibovitz's work and I thought the concept of this was a good idea because some people still have stereotypical thoughts on how women should act, what jobs they should have and how they are portrayed in the media. Being a woman myself I felt I could connect with this project and it is also a task that will take a lot of preparation and I will be able to grow from my experiences.
What will be required?
What I will require from my subjects is for them to be comfortable and relaxed. For some photos that I am taking I will be require my subjects to be wearing their work uniform, this would be more towards doctors, firefighters, dancers etc. When I come to photograph my subjects, each person who is included in the image will require a model release form filling out. I will have these at hand when I am with my subject.
